Her Branders Story:
Gabrielle Totton is the executive director of the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) of Northern Nevada, a non-profit team of trained citizen volunteers called by emergency responders to provide immediate practical and emotional support for survivors of tragedy. TIP volunteers respond to requests by police, fire, ambulance, medical examiners, and hospitals in assisting family members after a death, victims of crime, witnesses to tragedy, and children left alone after the death or injury of a parent.
The majority of Gabrielle's work is volunteer management, and public relations with TIP's partners. The latter involves looking for affordable promotional products that will help remind partners what TIP stands for. "I found Branders while doing online price shopping for promotional items," says Gabrielle. "As the executive director of a non-profit, my primary goal is to stretch TIP's money as far as I can. Branders makes that happen."
In October 2009, Gabrielle ordered Branders' Jumbo Grip Ballpoint Pen, Badge Holder with Cord, and Spiral Sign Wave Jotter Pad, after finding the selection and design process "a very efficient experience." She explains, "I like being able to insert TIP's logo in potential promo products before actually placing an order. It's like getting an instant sample—no wait, no worrying the products won't be what you envision."
Gabrielle bought several other promotional items from Branders soon after, and found the Lip Balm to be a group favorite. "Our volunteers and partner agencies love the lip balm because police officers, firefighters, and ambulance staff are out in the elements every day. Not only is the lip balm inexpensive, it is a great product and is always a hit," she says.
Through Branders' promotional items, Gabrielle says the organization is able to effectively say thank-you to TIP's volunteers, as well as to build more and stronger agency partnerships. "Without volunteers, TIP would not exist, so thanking them with quality items they can appreciate means a lot. The folks I share our goods with are always happy to see what we have to share with them."
A Branders customer for two years and counting, Gabrielle also commends the superior customer service she receives, on top of the price and quality advantage that has kept her coming back.
